Media Issue Analysis
An energy company wanted to understand the representation of biofuels in the media, specifically how the debate about biofuel cultivation was being associated with increasing food prices. It hoped to reach an understanding of how the online discussion was influencing, and being influenced by, traditional media reporting.
Lightwell Research worked with Dow Jones Insight to gather and analyse the relevant content from a vast range of sources. This allowed us to see that the debate was developing in a way that was quite different in user generated content to that within the traditional press. In turn, this influenced the company's communication activity according to media type.
